The first time was in August 1941, 11 years after the birth of the Festival. On July 28, 2020, 79 years later, the Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia returns to Torre del Lago with its Music Director, Sir Antonio Pappano, thanks to whom the prestige of the Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia has had an extraordinary success, building an international reputation for itself.

In Torre del Lago, Antonio Pappano, one of the greatest conductors in the world, will lead the orchestra in a programme including one of the absolute music masterpieces, the Symphony No. 5 by Beethoven on the 250th anniversary of the birth of the German composer, preceded by two compositions by Giacomo Puccini, a tribute to the Maestro in the places that inspired him and in the Theatre dedicated to him.
